I've been loving all of the many, many fall decorating posts popping up on my favourite blogs lately and it made me think of my own mini project from last year - my simple painted pumpkins. This was my first real post, too, so it is funny to look back on - I've learned a lot since then! I thought that, just for kicks, I'd share it again today. I've yet to introduce much fall into our place so far this year (aside from some candles) but will be sure to show you what we end up whipping up. Anyway, here's the pumpkins from this original post.
I started with an assortment of small pumpkins from the grocery store
as well as some cheap leftover craft paint
and in no time I had some pretty white pumpkins (orange didn't mesh with my decor).

Eine ganz andere Idee schön scheint
ReplyDeleteThey look great! It never occurred to me to paint pumpkins until I started reading blogs this year! I love them in white the best. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of painted pumpkins. It's so funny, I was sitting watching my daughter play tennis tonight and the wifi wasn't working and I was thinking of projects and I wondered if I could use AS chalk paint on pumpkins. This looks like the same idea. Now I am definitely going to try it. Makes for a gorgeous table.
ReplyDeleteI think your painted white pumpkins are quite elegant! I love them paired with the glowing candles, too!!! Tres chic!!!
ReplyDeleteLove/hugs/blessings,
Lana
I love these, Jenny! I was just discussing white pumpkins with someone at garden club, and they were saying how well they work in houses where orange doesn't. I love these with the candles! Very nice centerpiece!

ReplyDeleteI love the white and blue together. I was shocked yesterday at the flower stand that the man had never heard of blue pumpkins. And this particular little farm stand has been in business for years and years, and the owner is a horticulturalist. Go figure.

Hi, Jenny! I am so glad to see fall represented with different, non-traditional colors! I am a big fan of going against the grain! :-) Isn't paint a wonderful little tool? Your pumpkins take on a whole new air of sophistication when painted white. I'm sitting here with a Better Homes and Gardens on my desk that boasts white pumpkins on the front cover. They just can't be beat! I hope you have a great weekend!!!
